Represent!

Old habits die hard that's for sure. I'm addicted to reggeaton and Wisin y Yandel are one of my fave's (guilty pleasures...), mix them with Akon and Aventura, and you are bound to have a hit. Plus Jesse Terrero is such a good director. Although Akon wiping Romeo's forehead is a little odd... Thoughts? Like? Hate? Want to kill latinos for ruining music? Comment away.

Best I Ever Had?

Drake’s new video for his debut hit “Best I Ever Had” was released today, with Kanye West as director. In “Best I Ever Had”, Drake plays the high school coach of a voluptuous and attractive female basketball team. The girls stretch and dress in a steamy locker room as Drake raps in the Coach’s Office and the gymnasium stairwell. There’s a lot of slow motion running, very Baywatch.

You can tell West is a relatively new filmmaker, breaking the cinematic principle 180 degree rule a couple times during the clip, but for the most part he establishes that he has a pretty good cinematic eye. He definitely does better than music video veteran Dave Meyers’ on Britney Spears' craptastic "Radar" video.

Drake will also be a part of Lil' Wayne’s America's Most Wanted Tour later this year with Young Jeezy and Soulja Boy. The tour kicks off July 27th in Scranton, Pennsylvania and tickets go on sale July 20th. Thoughts on the video?

Britney Leaked! But In a Good Way

The video for Britney's latest single "Radar" has leaked to the Internet. The video for the fourth single from Circus isn't as raunchy as others, but she tries to make up for it by sharing screen time with a sexy polo player.

In the video Britney visits her wealthy boyfriend at his mansion, attends a polo match and has an affair with a polo player. "Radar", which was also included on Blackout, follows Circus' more upbeat dance tracks "Circus", "Womanizer" and "If You Seek Amy". The video was directed by Dave Meyers, who has worked with Spears on her videos for "Lucky," "Outrageous" and the celebrity-filled "Boys." Frankly the video is kind of odd, comlpete with an out of place horse bathing scene and an odd plot line.

The Ting Tings Do Berlin

The Ting Tings have announced plans to record their second album in Berlin, Germany because they find it inspiring. They hope to convert an old jazz club into a studio. Singer Katie White added that they hoped to use their unlikely venue to test out songs as they go."We did the first album by throwing house parties, we'd try them out on our drunk friends and if they danced we'd go "Great, let's carry on!".

"We're gonna do the same in Berlin - that's why we've got the jazz club - so we can just stick a big plastic bag over the studio so it doesn't get beer on and experiment on some crazy Berliners." The pair added they have yet to write any complete songs for the album, but said they had plenty of ideas for the follow-up to 2008's "We Started Nothing". Thoughts? Do you think it will be like the last album or bit jazzier?

Right Kanye...It's Art...

Seems like he's always trying but personally I think this time he just missed the mark. Kanye's new video for "Street Lights" from 808's & Heartbreak album is pretty craptastic. I mean, the video is utterly boring, and then the song ends, and well all we see is him cruising around in the video game without any audio or action happening. Riiight, it's art... Can we say LAME? I sure can. Can you? Thoughts?

Good Girls Go Bad- Cobra Starship ft Leighton Meester

The world premiere of Cobra Starship's " Good Girls Go Bad" ft Gossip Girl's very own villain Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf). It's a cute song, but she looked kind of awkward and like she was trying to steal camera time. Do you think this is the beginning or end Leighton's music career? Thoughts?

MGMT and McCartney

MGMT are set to open for Paul McCartney in his recently announced shows at Fenway Park in Boston, MA.

They are also on the bill alongside Coldplay and Arctic Monkeys at All Points West in New Jersey, which runs from July 31 to August 2. If you are near go! It's bound to be epic!

Death Of Autotune (D.O.A.) Video - Jay Z

Jay Z has proclaimed war against Autotune. On New York's Hot 97 radio station, Jay premiered a new song from his forthcoming album Blueprint 3 LP, called "D.O.A.," or "The Death of Auto-Tune."

In "D.O.A." Jay Z say's, "You rappers singing too much/ Get back to rap, you T-Pain-ing too much/ I'm a multi-millionaire/ So how am I the hardest n---a here?" Ouch!! a direct jab pretty much at every top charting Hip Hop artist so far.

"This is anti-Auto-Tune, death of the Ringtone," begins rapping Jay Z, over a track co-produced by Kanye West and No I.D. Hard drums and horns blaze as Jay conjures images of a black John Dillinger holding a smoking Tommy Gun, laying down a fool ignorant enough to stand in his way. Jay is back to kill biting MCs. Last month, Kanye West told MTV News about Jay Z's stance againt Autotune, the vocal effect used extensively by T-Pain and by West himself on his latest album.

"We actually removed all the songs with Auto-Tune off of his album," Kanye West said, "to make the point that this is an anti-Auto-Tune album, even though I released an album that has all Auto-Tune!" Isn't this alarmingly contradicting? Using someone who is an Autotune whore to produce your ANTI AUTOTUNE SONG? Why the sudden change Jay Z? I mean without Autotune there is no "Swagger Like Us"!

"The guys who did it, did it great," Jay Z explained. "T-Pain, he does great melodies. If you listen to Kanye, great melodies. If you listen to [West's] 'Say You Will' or 'Heartless,' great melodies. [Lil Wayne and T-Pain's] 'Lollipop' was a fantastic melody. Everybody can't do it. Let them guys do it. They got their little niche, let's move on. That's just my opinion. I don't know if everybody feels the same way."

His long-awaited album, Blueprint 3, is coming out via a new partnership with Atlantic Records and is expected to be released on September 11. The first official single from Blueprint 3 will be "On That," featuring Drake.
Thoughts on the video for D.O.A. or his complete 180 turn?

Drake Drizzy Rogers With Cash Money

Following reports of a major bidding war between three major labels, hot rapper Drake has come to a decision, opting to sign a deal with Cash Money / Universal MoTown, which boasts artists like Lil Wayne and Birdman. Finally.

Drake also said that, "There's an album coming out, hopefully by the end of this year. The craziest part, I, uh, you'll hear about the deal." So watch out for Drake's next album which if it seems to be anything like his previous singles, well, let's just say there is a new young millionaire. Watch out Wayne.

According to previous reports, both Universal Motown and Atlantic Records, and one other label, were involved in "one of the biggest bidding wars ever" according to sources. Nearly all of Drake's singles have been top charters so we are all looking forward to what he's bringing to the table next.

"Crossing The Rubicon" With The Sounds

"Crossing The Rubicon" is out! As you may have heard or read, this is the third studio album for the Swedish New Wave band, The Sounds , but the first to have no involvement or help from their record label. The first single for the album, "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake" is very much sticking the their style. Kudos. Thoughts on the video?
