Ryan Gosling's "Name In Stone"

The goth folk band Dead Man's Bones formed by actor Ryan Gosling ( The Notebook) ,Zach Shields , and co has signed to Anti- Records. The label will release their self-titled debut October 6th.

Only two of their charmingly creepy songs ( "Name In Stone" and "In the Room Where You Sleep") have been made public, via a pair of self-created videos. The album was recorded with the Silverlake Conservatpry Children's Choir, a group of Los Angeles-area kids ranging in age from five to 17. Gosling described the motivation behind the album's raw aesthetic:

"You know when you're a kid and you get crayons and papers and just draw whatever you want and it's just a bunch of messy lines, but to you it makes sense, and then they put it on the fridge? From that point on, you're always trying to get back on the fridge, you start drawing things that look like something, like, the more it looks like a horse, the more chance you have of getting it on the fridge. We wanted to get back to that place before we were trying to make the fridge. We wanted to work with people who hadn't been affected in that way yet."

Ignorance Is Your New Best Friend!

Nashville pop-punkers Paramore give fans a taste of what to expect on their Rob Cavallo-produced third album with the debut single “Ignorance,” from their upcoming Brand New Eyes album due September 29th.

The furiously paced track blends the sass of Riot! single, “Misery Business” with hints of the darkness heard in “Decode” (off the Twilight soundtrack). Frontwoman Hayley Williams spits out the song’s hook, “You treat me just like another stranger / well it’s nice to meet you sir / I guess I’ll go / I best be on my way out” and proclaims,
“Ignorance is your new best friend!” Check it out below! I love it. Do you?

There Will Be No More Panic! At The Disco...

Panic! At The Disco announced today ( July 7) via their website that guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker have quit the band in order to pursue individual music projects.

"Ryan Ross and Jon Walker will be leaving Panic At The Disco to embark on a musical excursion of their own. Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we’ve creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve. Over the years, we have remained close and honest with each other, which helped us to realize that our goals were different and that parting ways is truly what is best for each of us. We are all excited for the future, you should be too."

-Ryan & Jon

Ryan Ross, who is also the main songwriter in the band, is currently working on solo material in Los Angeles.

Frontman Brandon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith will continue on as Panic! at the Disco, and the pair will still play their scheduled dates on the Blink-182 reunion tour (with two replacement members, of course).

Ross and Walker haven’t named their new group, nor have they given any indication what it would sound like. But Urie and Smith will reportedly finish up the already in progress 3rd album. But what will all this new music sound like?

Nothing Personal TOMORROW!!

All Time Low is scheduled to release their third studio album, titled Nothing Personal, on July 7, 2009.

Vocalist Alex Gaskarth explained that "our music explains all the troubles we've been through..it has many things.. This time, we tried to explore something a little bit deeper. We're exploring some new moods, which is pretty cool." The band's collaboration on a song Alive with Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 will not feature on Nothing Personal,"It just didn't fit the vibe of the record," but, "It will definitely come out at some time."said Alex.

The entire album is still available for streaming download at MTV's The Leak. Check it out. I love it! Very All Time Low. Last year I went to an All Time show in NYC and didn't even get to see them because my friend got trampled by the mosh pit and we had to leave...You should definitely check them out, soooo good! Maybe I'll catch them next time! Check Out The Video for Weightless. Soo Good and so true!

Hot Sauce Due September!

The Beastie Boys' new album The Hot Sauce Committee Part I will be released on September 15th, 2009( yay!) . The album features guests Santigold and Nas who recently joined the Beasties at Bonaroo to debut their Hot Sauce collaboration “Too Many Rappers” onstage. Supposedly Bob Dylan is also in the works to contribute to the album . Lucky fans who ordered ordered the Check Your Head reissue earlier this year were secretly given 2 singles from the new album: “Lee Majors Comes Again” and “B-Boys in the Cuts”. Hot Sauce will be the Beasties’ first album since 2007’s instrumental The Mix-Up, and the first to feature the Boys rapping since 2004’s To the 5 Boroughs. Considering that this is Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, it seems inevitable that a Part 2 is in the works, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is going to be one of the biggest releases of the Fall. Can't wait!!

A New Discovery For 2009

I've found your electro-pop summer soundtrack. The self-titled debut LP (called, um, LP) from Discovery-- aka Vampire Weekend's keyboardist/producer Rostam Batmanglij and Ra Ra Riot singer Wes Miles is due for release on July 7, 2009 . Check out "Orange Shirt" and "Osaka Loop Line" currently featured on their MySpace-->> http://www.myspace.com/discoverdiscovery

The album features vocal contributions from Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig and Dirty Projectors' Angel Deradoorian-- along with an AutoTuned cover of the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back". The LP also has a space-pop remix of Ra Ra Riot's "Can You Tell" but re-dubbed as "Can You Discover?". According to sources the track "So Insane" is indeed loyal to its title in a Paula Abdul-meets-"Umbrella"-meets-Dexy's-meets-"The Electric Slide" kinda way. So far "Orange" and "Osaka Loop Line" sound pretty good to me. Tell me what you guys think.
