Ludacris Conjures A New Project

This is not Ludacris' first entrepeneurial venture. He also owns a successful local restaurant Straits in Atlanta. Sensitive to the number of celebrities who slap their name on everything from spatulas to umbrellas, both Hartmann and Ludacris were adamant that this would not be a product endorsement. "It's not just me attaching my name to it," said Bridges. "Whenever I involve myself in a business, I submerge myself in it."
So it is no surprise that Ludacris' favorite drink is Cognac and Coke. The Conjure project signals Hartmann's daring attempt to take a relatively small, high-end cognac house global. He's prepared to ship as much Conjure cognac as the hipsters are prepared to buy at $US34.99 per bottle. It will reach the shelves of America in September.
Ciara and Missy "Work"

Ciara is also set to join Britney Spears' "Circus" tour in the fall of 2009. She tweeted about her fall tour, she recently wrote, "ok, looks like u guys found out:) i will be doing the next US run with Britney Spears this fall!!! yey! ATL! NY! Vegas! Texas! and MOOOR .."
Let's hope she has more luck than PCD who also toured with Britney early 2009 but allegedly didn't even see her once other than on stage when she performed. Where does she run off to? Probably to Target to buy some potato chips... Oh Britney will you ever change?
Below is Ciara's new video for "Work". It's OK... for sure not the greatest thing. It sure isn't a Missy video that's for sure.

Lupe The Mountain Climber and New Album Fiasco

Fiasco was recruited for the stunt by Ethiopian pop singer Kenna, whose father nearly perished as a child due to a lack of clean drinking water.
Mount Kilimanjaro boasts the highest peak on the African continent at 19, 330 feet. Most routes to the top of the mountain take a maximum of 6 to 7 days. Although the voyage is a popular retreat amongst climbers, the journey is not without its dangers. An estimated 10 people die every year attempting to climb Kilimanjaro. Despite the risks for a novice climber, Fiasco plans to make the event a light-hearted competition with his friend Kenna.
Along with Kenna and Fiasco, pop superstar Justin Timberlake is expected to participate. The Mount Kilimanjaro charity climb is scheduled to take place this Fall 2009.
On a lighter yet sadder note, Lupe’s anticipated third and apparently last (since he's retiring) studio album "Lasers" is due out in Fall 2009. Fiasco was originally going to release his triple album, Lupe Fiasco's LupE.N.D. as his third and final record, but his contract with Atlantic Records prevented him from retiring with this agenda. Instead, he announced a new album was on the works, originally titled "We Are Lasers" and then changed to "Lasers".
During a concert in Boston, Fiasco played the chorus of a song called "Shining Down" from "Lasers", which eventually led to a snippet being leaked onto the internet. "Shining Down" was intended to be the first single off of "Everywhere", the first of the three CDs that LupE.N.D. is composed of. But because its release was withheld, there is speculation circulating that it may be the first single from Lasers.

Aussie rockers to release "Shaka Rock" August 25, 2009

Jet has announced the title and release date of their third album. The band will release "Shaka Rock" on August 25 in the US and September 7 in the UK.
In a statement, drummer and vocalist Chris Cester said the band is "thrilled" with the record, which is their first since 2006's "Shine On".
The Aussie rockers are set to kick off their tour in Milwaukee on July 4 before playing in cities including Chicago, New York, Boston, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. I know I will try to catch the NY show. I love these guys and I have a soft spot for Aussie's ( Hi Stephy). Catch them in a city near you and make sure to get the new album in August! If it's anything like the previous albums, I reckon it'll be massive! Although why "Shaka Rock"? Who knows, I bet it's short for something. Aussies like to shorten names for some odd but adorable reason.
The tracklisting for "Shaka Rock" is:
'K.I.A (Killed In Action)'
'Beat On Repeat'
'She's A Genius'
'Black Hearts (On Fire)'
'Seventeen'
'La Di Da'
'Goodbye Hollywood'
'Walk'
'Times Like This'
'Let Me Out'
'Start The Show'

“Caleb, Jared, Matthew and Nathan [Followill] are extraordinary tastemakers and constantly absorbing new sounds from all over the world,” said Bug Music CEO John Rudolph. “The honesty in their music is what draws them to genuine artists.

Rebelution's New Album "Bright Side of Life" to be released August 4th 2009
Santa Barbara-based reggae band Rebelution announced today that their long awaited sophomore full-length album “Bright Side of Life” will be released in stores nationwide and digital worldwide on August 4, 2009. The album follows up their award winning debut album “Courage to Grow,” which garnered mass downloads and radio play on monster radio stations such as San Francisco’s Live 105 with their hit single “Safe and Sound”.
Now for the summer of 2009, the band is ready to unleash 12 new signature tracks blending their cohesive mix of reggae, rock, and hip-hop influences in a calliope awash of front man Eric Rachmany’s Santana-esque guitar flurries, Marley D. Williams’ solid and attacking bass lines, the psychedelic and tasteful piano, keyboard and Hammond b-3 styling of Rory Carey and the jazz rock fusion of Wesley Finney’s finesse drumming and percussion.
The release of “Bright Side of Life” marks the first release under Rebelution’s newly founded record label, 87 Music in association with Controlled Substance Sound Labs and Silverback Music, the California based music collective, which is also home to artists Slightly Stoopid and Pepper.
For the rest of 2009 moving into 2010, Rebelution plans on touring to follow up their previous national efforts which included sold out shows at venues such as The House of Blues San Diego, Anaheim and Los Angeles as well as The Fillmore in San Francisco and more in Florida, Colorado, Texas and South Carolina.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson
The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has died today, June 25th, 2009 at the age of 50. The iconic singer was on the verge of launching a comeback with a series of shows in London’s 02 Arena in July.
Jackson first reached fame with his brothers in the group Jackson 5, scoring a string of hits in the late 1960s-1970s, including 'ABC', 'The Love You Save' and 'I Want You Back'.
The star’s fame continued throughout the 1970s, but he broke off from his siblings to make the 'Off The Wall' album with producer Quincy Jones in 1979, a partnership which also resulted in 1982’s 'Thriller' album, a record which remains the biggest selling album of all time. Jackson's status as the world’s biggest superstar was confirmed at the 1983 Motown Records party, when his ‘moonwalk’ dancing to ‘Billie Jean’ before an audience of millions cemented his position as the world’s biggest music star.
After the release of his 'Bad' album in 1987, Jacko became an ever bigger celebrity and his 1988 world tour cemented his position as the premier pop star on the planet.
Jackson's fanbase remained huge despite the lack of releases - and he was dogged by well-documented controversy. In 2005 he was found not guilty of all charges in a child abuse trial.
You will be missed! May you rest in peace <3
